Week #46 ~Baptism High Five!

Hola famillia !

I am doing great! Just hoppling around and trying to get people to go to church! My knee is giving me some pretty good pain, but I am still trudging along.

This week was great like always! We have some great progressing investigators and with some luck we can get another one baptized!  We helped with a baptism of our ward yester with a little boy and it was super nice! They even made a libro de Mormón cake! haha

This week we divisions again and I got to do service in another area.  It was very unusual we were cleaning a patio for them and they are laterally the people from the TV show hoarders buried alive. I made a vow I will always do whatever it takes not to be like them.   It was disgusting, we cleaned their patio and it took all day.  Everything we were throwing away he would take maybe half of it out.  He would say it was valuable or he could fix it and sell it. All I could think the whole time was what my dad would do. I bet he would have advised to wait until night and just throw it ALL away, it was literally a dump.  He had maybe 30 old bikes and so many old bottles it was crazy!

After that we had a great lesson with one of investigators! It was so nice!  She lives with and is a caretaker of a less active woman who is extremely old!  So, it makes a great spot to have a lesson with a member present.  We taught the gospel of Jesus Christ and she excepted to be baptized! It’s kind of weird, we normally don’t ask the baptism question that early, we normally wait to the second lesson.  Because the investigators get scared with having to change any aspect of their life’s. So, my comp and I looked at each other and they really don’t prepare us for exactly what to do after they accept!  So, we just high fived her! haha She was caught a little off guard but we all laughed. It was great! I also bought a knee brace today to allow me to continue working with my knee problems! It’s hurts pretty good but with enough drugs and ice and a thick brace I can still hobble out the door and get back to the house at night! I am improving I think I guess we will see!

Love you lots,

Elder Vance
