Week #1 ~All In Spanish!

Hola! come esta? yo so es super bien.

I am having a terrific time hear the the MTC I am learning so much hear in the few days that I have had. I have taught three lessons all in Spanish and have been able to pray in Spanish since Friday. I have a great companions and lots of fabulous elders that I am very grateful to have with me.   It certainly ease the burden of the extreme transition. I have class every day from 7 to 9:30 except Sunday and obviously Tuesday which is my prep day. I Love the atmosphere here, I am able to learn so much about Jesus Christ everyday its amazing. I am glad to here that all is still well back home and that all the progression down south is still on track for the most part.

I am late to email today because I became the district leader to over 15 elders. Its a lot of responsibilities but I am up for the challenge. I have to meet with all of them and conduct several meetings and weekly interview with them on a variety of things. One of my duties is to pick up the mail twice a day and give it to the missionaries.   Have you seed Dear Elder? its really cool, they will print off your email and give it to us every day.  Try it!  I would love hear whats going on at home!  Its really quite amazing.

Its hard to be called Elder Vance I am getting used to it, but I still call my self Preston some times. I am trying to write a appropriate amount of information so I do not have short letter like some Elder Vance I knew;) I am super glad I have chosen to serve, the first few day were a lot harder then I thought it would be. I was thrown right into a class where the teacher Hermano Parker didn't speak any English. It was so hard but I am slowly learning Spanish. Its quite complicated when you have to conjugate verbs and pre tense and past tense, because there are lots of rules but I believe I can get them down some day. I love getting emails and I am very excited to receive mail.   I am always envious of the letters that come for the other elders and sisters but it just gives me even more of a chance to look forward to Prep day. I am glad I have so much support back home. You guys give me so much support and I can feel the prayers and blessing that our sent my way. Thank you.
I sent you a letter in the mail and I will write another and send today I don't know if you received it yet but I sure hope so.
Love you All,
Elder Vance

The Drop....and first letter!

Hi Mom,
They are letting us email our first day! I only have a few minutes to email you but I am taking the opportunity to! I am doing great for day one. I am companions with Jake's friend from Draper Elder Goodrich and I have a guy in my dorm room from Cedar City.
I had a few classes today about loving the strangers you meet and it was really cool.  I didn't think that was remotely possible but, by the end I was able to have a emotional connection with these 2 investigators. I am sorry for my poor spelling.  I don’t have spell check.  I love all you guys so much.   Today it was hard saying good bye, but I am strong and I believe.
Love, Elder Vance
